B&B Current Fire Regulations

Devon & Somerset Fire Service are again fronting their Olympic Summer Fire Safety Reminder for Accommodation Providers with Hedgehog Corner.

The new legislation brought in 2006 which affects all and any accommodation providers from 1 room upwards.

The Fire Service is concerned that with B&Bs are springing up for the Olympics they may not have taken their fire safety into account.

As a professionally run Visit England inspected B&B we are pleased to reassure guests that we have all the current fire regulations under the Fire Safety (Reform) Act 2005 in place.

This includes having Fire Doors on all bedrooms and in public areas, Interlinked hard wired Smoke & Heat Detectors, Fire Alarms, Extinguishers serviced annually and suitable for the job and Emergency lighting over the stairwell - including outside the front door if there is no street lighting.   We also have all our Portable Appliances i.e. the kettle in your room, PAT tested.

We do all this to keep us and most importantly you - our guests - safe in their beds and ensure that our B&B insurance would cover us and you in the unfortunate event of ever a claim arising.
