For many years now, Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall and the River Cottage team have been asking the nation to see the sense and pleasure of sourcing food locally and seasonally. Isn’t it time to find out for yourself?
The River Cottage Kitchen in Axminster can be found in the centre of the town on Trinity Square. At the Deli they stock a selection of the best local and seasonal provisions. Virtually all of the produce is sourced locally by Hugh and his team, from some of the finest South West producers.
There’s so much to do and explore in the area; Forde Abbey near Chard is a former medieval monastery with beautiful gardens or for those who like garden centres don’t miss Otter Nurseries, described as a colourful day out for everyone near the fantastic Joshua’s Harvest Store with light lunches.
