COVID & Information
First a note for our Guests and those thinking of booking,
We are starting holiday lets with the Retreat with own Hot Tub to get the business started again from a standstill on the 4th July 2020 all being well. In case you are worried about booking let me reassure you:
GOVERNMENT LOCK DOWN AND IF THERE IS ANOTHER: Just to reassure you that if there is another Government Order we will transfer your booking to another date in either 2020 or 2021 which ever you find suitable. We are a small business and hope that you will book knowing that this is the booking condition should there be another lock down.
CLEANLINESS: We can reassure our Guests that we are accredited through a PERSONAL INSPECTION by an OFFICER from ‘Quality in Tourism’ and were one of the first in the country to be awarded their ‘Safe, Clean & Legal’ certification. The property will have a full and thorough clean between bookings. Cleaning materials are also provided at the property. We do recommend you may like to bring your own pillows for your own peace of mind. I gather Visit Britain is coming up with an online kite mark, but nothing can compare to the personal visit from an Inspector such as we have had. We also hold a 5 Start Hygiene rating with East Devon Council who have inspected our hot tubs.
HOT TUBS: We use a chlorine sanitiser and the highest levels of water checks are carried out by me personally – either very early in the morning before you get up or when we see you and your car are out for the day. We will not visit the property when you are in situ unless you call us out or there is an emergency.
SOCIAL DISTANCING AND PRIVACY ON SITE: The Retreat is detached, private and secluded with your own hot tub, parking area, entrance and front door. You won’t see another soul whilst at the property or in the private property’s own garden and terrace. Acorns, which will be opening at a later date, is a large separate apartment with own hot tub parking area, entrance and front door, again you won’t see another soul whilst at the property or on the apartments own private terrace.
I live on site well away from the properties and guests and will endeavour to give you a warm Socially Distanced Welcome and from the garden path tell you how the hot tub works and answer any questions. Your key is in a key box, the code is emailed to you 6 & 2 days prior to arrival. Please return the key to the key box on departure. I will also endeavour to give you a Socially Distanced wave from the main drive on departure when you are level with Reception (and check the key is returned to the box).
See the videos on the web site to get a feel for each property.
I am available 24/7 by phone – use land line at night and or mobile in the day time – numbers sent on booking.
I have a track record of happy guests if you read our Trip Advisor Reviews (see web site) and many comment on the cleanliness of the property.
I look forward to your stay. For The Retreat Secure Online Bookings and at a later date Acorns Apartment Secure Online Booking page.

Millers Farm Shop along A35 at Kilmington
Run by Malcolm Miller and his family, Millers Farm Shop has been growing and selling locally sourced produce for over thirty years. The shop is an Aladdin’s Cave of the most sumptuous food imaginable. Some of the vegetables are grown on the farm, the rest are provided by local suppliers passionate about good quality food. Fresh fruit and vegetables are locally sourced and colourful arrays of seasonal plants are available. You can find Lyme Bay fresh fish, beef, pork and lamb from local farms, local milk and cream, cider from Lyme Bay Winery and Perry’s Cider Mill and sample a variety of local cheeses. Also very popular with customers are the mouth watering array of breads and pastries, along with an impressive selection of teas, coffees and juices.
We love the view from the deck at the end of the garden of the Alexandra Hotel in Lyme Regis
